Rosiland Kay Brettmann of Deshler, NE

 

Rosiland Kay Brettmann, the daughter of Chester and Clara (Houser) Frankforter, was born on March 9, 1939 in Belvidere, NE. She departed this life on April 13, 2023, at Fallbrook Assisted Living in Lincoln, NE at the age of 84 years.

 

Rose grew up in Belvidere, NE attending school and graduating from Belvidere High School with the class of 1956.

 

She was baptized on December 27, 1957, and confirmed on December 29, 1957, by Pastor Janssen, as an adult at the Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE.

 

Rose married Willis Brettmann on September 21, 1958, by Pastor Janssen at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE, and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage together. This union was blessed with the birth of three sons.

 

Rose worked at the Deshler Cafe during high school, and helped her husband on the farm where they also sold oil, seed, and twine, raised a large vegetable garden, and rescued many kittens. Later in life she was the lunch supervisor at Deshler Public Schools, retiring in 2001 after 17 years.

 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Clara; husband, Willis; siblings, Gary Frankforter, Max Frankforter, Gene Frankforter, Roma Bedlan and Pamela Worm.

 

She is survived by her three sons, Thomas (Elaine) Brettmann of Castle Rock, CO; Gregg (Ona) Brettmann of Kalamazoo, MI; and Michael (Beth) Brettmann of Elizabeth, CO; six grandchildren, Katherine and Lindsey Brettmann of Castle Rock, CO, Kaylea and Anna Brettmann of Kalamazoo, MI, and Emily (Saxon) Augenbaugh and Jacob Brettmann of Elizabeth, CO; and great grandson, Parker Augenbaugh; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
