On Saturday, June 12th at 3pm. Rosie Young Dominguez, loving wife, and devoted mother of 6, passed from this world at the age of 84.

Rosie was born September 21, 1936 in McQueeny, Texas to Ignacio and Bernita Young. Both of Rosie’s parents passed early in her life and she was raised primarily by her grandmother, Jenoveua Garcia in San Antonio, Texas.

On August 21, 1954 Rosie married Robert Arias Dominguez and they raised 6 children: Robert, Leticia, Chris, Charlie, Christine, and Lisa.

Rosie lived her life with a deep passion for her church and her faith. At Christ The King Catholic Church, Rosie was a Founding Member. Throughout her life, Rose remained an active volunteer with various local Women’s Ministries, and some medical ministries in Mexico working as an interpreter. Rosie also volunteered for years with the Yellow Birds at Scott & White, where she was fondly known as the “popcorn lady”. Beyond her passion for the church, she also loved spending time with her entire family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her gardens, dancing, and visiting with her many friends.

Rose traveled all over the world and she loved it, including The Holy Lands, Germany, England, France, China, Mexico, and most of the United States.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her brothers Ignacio Young, Roy Young, and Frailan Young. She is survived by her sisters, Aurora Aguilar and Gloria Young, and brother Robert Young, as well as her 6 children: Robert Dominguez of Fort Worth, Texas, Leticia and Bob Wilkerson of Thornton, Texas, Chris and Teresa Dominguez of Midland, Texas, Charlie and Leslie Dominguez of Lawrence, Kansas, Christine and Ruben Mendez of Temple, Texas, and Lisa and William Baker of San Antonio, Texas, 20 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
