Rosette Julia Vanhee Richardson passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on September 5, 2012. She was born in Kortrjk, Belgium on March 17, 1942 to Raoul P. and Raymonde B. Vanhee and she grew up in Kortrjk and Brussels, Belgium.
After graduating from Lyce´e E´mile Max School in Brussels, Rosette moved to France where she met Blaine Daniel “Rich” Richardson, who was serving in the United States Air Force, stationed in Leon, France. Rosette and Rich fell in love and were married in 1962. They proceeded to have four sons, Edward Raoul, Daniel Emile, Mark Rudy and Steven Gilbert. After serving for a number of years in Europe, Rich was transferred to Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach and the family relocated to Florida where they raised their four children in a loving home.
Rosette was a warm and loving grandmother. “Meme,” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren, was a very proud and devoted grandmother. One of her greatest joys in life was attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school events, honor banquets, concerts and recitals. She was a caring, compassionate person and a good friend to many, who will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Rosette and Rich were happily married until he passed on November 5, 2010. She is also predeceased by her devoted sons, Daniel and Steven and her parents. Rosette is survived by her son Edward and wife Laurie, her son Mark and wife Dawn, of Fort Walton Beach and her daughter-in-law, Bonny Hawkins Richardson of Atlanta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Kristina and husband, T.J. Schoolcraft, Michelle, Quentin, Brandon, Jazmin, Cody, Blaine, Katherine and Kelsey Richardson; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Gavin Schoolcraft. Rosette is also survived by her sister Martine Vanhee and Martine’s children and grandchildren; her sister Renee and husband, Charles Baltus-Vanhee; her niece He´le`ne and husband, Benoit DeNoyer-Baltus along with their children Elise and Clara; and her niece Charlotte Baltus all of Belgium.
