Rosetta ‘Rosie’ M. Morton, born February 12, 1930, in O’Fallon, Illinois, passed away Monday August 5, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Swansea, Illinois.
She was a loving Daughter, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend. Rosetta was a 54 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #487, of O’Fallon, Illinois where she served as an officer for many years. In 1997, she was appointed Organist for the Grand Chapter of Illinois and greatly enjoyed sharing her love of music with many members throughout the state. She was also a member of Al Sihah Temple No.29 Daughters of the Nile.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband Harry Lee Morton, who passed away August 20, 2002, her parents Samuel and Dorothy Cavins, father and mother in law, Harry E. and Fannie Morton, and brother-in-law, Robert E. Morton.
She is survived by her twins, daughter Karen L. Morton, of O’Fallon, Illinois, and son Michael L. Morton and his wife, Lynn of Highland, Illinois, grandsons Jonathan Michael Morton of Seattle, Washington, and William Grant Morton, of Highland, Illinois, brothers Raymond Cavins and wife Joyce, of Tavares, Florida, Ronald Cavins and wife Joan of O’Fallon, Illinois, sister-in-law, Cindy Morton, of Warrenton, Missouri, 3 nieces and 4 nephews and their families, and many friends.
