Rosemary Watson, 70, left us on January 7th 2019, with her family by her side at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
Rosemary was born December 31st 1948 in Brooklyn, New York to Edna Watson.
Her professional career landed her on Wall Street within the Banking industry. She spent approximately 20 years at the Bank of New York. She began as a key punch operator and worked her way up the totem pole to Bond Trading, Bond Brokerage & Securities, in addition to building life-long friendships.
Intelligent. Diligent. Resilient. Professional. Qualities she exhibited effortlessly. My mother believed in this simple principle, you are owed nothing in life. Whatever you want must be pursued and earned. That is the only time that life owes you anything.
She was the Matriarch of the Watson/Smith clan. Her compass was set towards self improvement through education, self-taught or academically. Family – you only get one, cherish, love and respect them. She was quick of wit and never minced words. She spoke from the heart and you always knew where you stood with her. Mentally strong and an extremely proud person, she took immense pride in instilling family values in her children and grandchildren. Rosemary refused to be a caged bird. She loved traveling and her independence equally. Now she can freely fly and soar within the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Rosemary is survived by her three children Andre Watson, Sonya Smith, Christopher Watson; seven grandchildren: Simone Watson, Andre Watson Jr., Monica Watson, Brianna Watson, Robert Watson, Tiffany Smart and Anfernee Smart and a host of other relatives and friends.
