Rosemary Dangler Surface, 85 years young, met with her angels on March 14, 2006. Her journey began on January 24, 1921, in Indianapolis, Indiana and she resided in this area most of her life.
She graduated from St. Vincent’s Nursing School and retired as an RN in 1979 from Community Hospital. She was a charter member of the LAVFW Post 10094. Her hobbies included gambling our own Gambling Rose, reading, crocheting, bird watching, playing cards, and enjoying her family. She always enjoyed taking her goldfish for a walk. Rosemary’s loving family included a brother, Robert Dangler of Indianapolis; five children, Stephen Surface Judy of Largo, Florida, Nancy Reed Mike of Middletown, Jean Ellis Glenn of Chesterfield, Peg Pickett Ron of St. Cloud, Florida, John Jack Surface of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Melissa Castor Mike, Steven Surface Stacy, Robbie Ellis Lisa, Teresa Ellison Eric, Robert Reed Melissa, Jason Ellis Adonica, Zachary Surface, Jackiy Farmer Marshall, Paxton Pickett, John Thomas Surface, Rob Puffer Jennifer, Jan Randall Glen, Rob Pickett Sonya, Richee Pickett, and Jamie Krebs Mike. She had 27 ½ great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A very special sister-in-law, Marty Pill Rider, and her close friends, Joyce Muir and Sara Kellermeyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert H. Surface; her parents, Carl and Helen Dangler; stepmother, Nellie Dangler, and grandson, William Billy Reed.
