Rosemary K. Parker, 98, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Rosemary was born August 5, 1922 the third child of Fred and Rose (Marshall) Krieguer.

Rosemary was a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana in 1944 and received a masters degree in Education from Iowa State University in 1949.

Rosemary and Robert Parker were married December 23, 1954 in Rockford. They lived in Rockford for several years where Rosemary taught at Rockford West High School. In 1959 they returned to Serena.

Rosemary continued her teaching career at Illinois Valley Community College in Peru and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, where she was also pursuing a P.H.D in Design.

Rosemary was an avid bridge player, gardener, and mentor to many. She was an inspiring, devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her family and will live on so admired and cherished. She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Brown, of Naperville, granddaughters Lauren (Jamie) Garbis of Naperville, and Ashleigh (John) Blumthal, of Denver, CO; and great-grandchildren, Kirra, Eloise, and Maverick. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert on June 26, 2016, daughters Anne and Jane Parker, sister Francis Krieguer, and brother Theodore Krieguer.
