Rosemary K. Lands, 75, of Wakarusa, formerly of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Elkhart to Clarence and Lucille (Johnson) Alwine.
On Dec. 4, 1954, she married Ray Lands in Elkhart. He preceded her in death March 7, 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Thompson of Elkhart and Cheryl (Albert) Turner of Otterbein; son Tim Lands of Elkhart; sister Dorothy Bailey of Elkhart; brother Gayle Alwine of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Purucker; three sisters, Maxine Kryder, Waneta Yoder and Mabel Ann Alwine; and two brothers, Alvine Alwine and Everett Alwine.
Rosemary spent many years babysitting several children in the Elkhart area.
She was a member of Meadowood Free Methodist Church.
She often enjoyed spending time cooking, baking, going to garage sales and shopping.
