She was born February 5, 1926 in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Ellis) Briggs. Rosemary was a 1944 graduate of Gaston High School. She was employed by Marhoefer Packing Co. for 26 years and Wee Wisdom Nursery School prior to her retirement.
Survivors include two nieces, Jan Ellen Knote, Selma, IN; and Cynthia Rahrig, Arizona; nephew, Mark Briggs, Colorado; God daughter, Melissa Schnuck Weddell, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Sharon Briggs, Arizona; and numerous Orick family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ruth Briggs; her husband, J.C. Orick; three brothers, Fred Briggs, Jr., John Joseph Briggs, and Tommy Ray Briggs; and two sisters, Betty Ruth Schaler and Barbara Ann Jarvis.
