Rosemary Bourgeois Caruso was born in New Orleans on February 26, 1932 to the late Clarence Woodward Bourgeois of Waveland, Mississippi and Rose Cuccia Bourgeois of New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the sister of Carolyn B. Larousse (Ferrell). She passed away on Friday, June 12, 2015 at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, LA. at the age of 83 years.
Rosemary had been married nearly 67 years to her loving husband , Ronald Joseph Caruso, Sr. Together they raised four children: Cheryl C. Robinson (Stephen, Sr.) of Harahan, LA, Cathy C. Brien (the late Gene) of Kenner, LA, Ronald Joseph Caruso, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Metairie, LA and the late Craig John Caruso.
Her greatest treasures in life were her nine grandchildren: Stephen E. Robinson, Jr. (Aimee), Scott J. Robinson (Valerie), Sean C. Robinson (Sarah), Craig M. Robinson (Katherine), Christie B. Milazzo (Anthony III), Geoffrey C. Brien, Melissa C. Carter (James), Mandy A. Caruso, Randy J.
Rosemary is survived by her sister-in-law, Janice Caruso Volpe (Paul) and brother-in-law Milton A. Caruso.
Proceeded in death by her sister-in-law, the late Beverly Caruso LeCorgne (the late Alfred).
RoRo, Maw Maw, and Bunny Lou, as she was so lovingly called by her grandchildren, was the “queen” of file gumbo. In their eyes, no one could cook like their grandmother. She was the only person that could get them to pose in age order for routine family photos. (and don’t try to fool her) She knew ALL of her nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s names and birthdates! Rosemary was a devout Catholic. She was also a loyal Saints fan.
She will be so sadly missed, but never, ever forgotten, by family and friends.
