SALEM – Rosemary Ann (Kosec) Martens, age 77, of Salem, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 15, 2018 after a long illness. She was born on April 24, 1940 in Painesville, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Mary (Stiber) Kosec; sister, Dorothy Kosec and brother, Joseph Steber.
She will be dearly missed by her husband and best friend of 55 years, Nick; daughters, Linda Martens (Rob Russo), Debby Markovitch, Lisa Martens-Flood (Steve Flood) all of Columbus, OH; son, Steve Martens of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Nick, Lincoln, Hayley and Kenton Flood; Alex and Jack Markovitch; and many cousins.
Nothing made her happier than spending time with family. She dearly loved her husband, kids and grandkids, whose sports and other activities she enthusiastically supported and enjoyed attending.
Rosemary graduated in 1958 from Hoban Dominican High School in Cleveland and attended Kent State University.
She was an active member of the Salem Elks Lodge and Ohio Elks Association, organizing events and activities for more than 40 years, and served as president and past president of the Salem Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She also was involved in the Salem Sr. High School Band Boosters and Choir Boosters.
Rosemary worked for the past 14 years as a fundraiser at InfoCision in Austintown.
