Rosemary Amelia Beck Johnson, 77, of Morehead, Kentucky, was born September 26, 1943 in Metropolis, Illinois, to George and Mamie Wedeking Beck. Rosemary graduated from Hammond (Indiana) High School in 1961 and married Donnie Johnson on August 18, 1962.
Rosie is survived by her devoted husband Donnie Johnson, and daughter Nancy (Howie) McDaniel of Valparaiso, Indiana. She was a loving grandmother to Kaela, Kelsie, Megan, and Ashley. Also surviving are three sisters: Mae Novik of Pennsylvania, Faye Ross of Arizona, Kay Smith of Oklahoma, and two brothers, Mike Beck of Oklahoma and John Beck of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Dwayne Johnson.
Rosemary retired from Morehead State University after serving as secretary to Department Chair Yvonne Baldwin for ten years. She was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 2015 for her work at the Haldeman Community Center where she volunteered as the Event Coordinator and Planner. She and Joy Gritton started the After School Program in 2012. Working with students from MSU and the children who participated in the program was her pride and joy.
A special thank you to Mari, Gary, Melinda and James Johnson for all their help during this difficult time.
