Rose Marie (Spicer) Semmelrock – 76 of Bozrah passed away on July 27, 2014 at William W. Backus Hospital after losing a heroic battle to cancer, with her family by her side. Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband Harold E. Semmelrock and her parents George and Rose A. (Hachey) Spicer. She leaves behind a brother Ronald Spicer and his wife Patricia of Oakdale, CT, a son Harold G. Semmelrock of Gilman, a daughter Cathy Semmelrock Capsalors and her husband Michael, along with a grandson Jonathan all of New Britain, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and her canine boys Coco and Lucky.
Rose Marie was employed by the Town of Bozrah-Board of Education at Fields Memorial School in the cafeteria for several years.
Rose Marie’s family was her life and her occupation. She was a passionate, caring and generous individual, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Rose Marie unselfishly cared for her husband Harold, enduring the hardships of the disease that finally took his life, while at the same time being diagnosed with cancer herself.
Rose Marie’s life will always be remembered as the glue that held the family together, her spirit will live on eternally and continue to nurture all those that loved her.
Rose Marie Spicer was married to Harold E. Semmelrock on July 23, 1955. They were each other’s soul mate and their love for each other was eternal.
