Rosemarie Giardino, age 90, of Rome, passed away peacefully, February 28, 2012, with her loving family at her side.

She was born March 27, 1921, in Rome, a daughter of Leonard and Catherine Seccurra Grieco, and educated in Rome schools. Rosemarie was united in marriage to Patrick Giardino on August 23, 1953 at the Church of Saint John the Baptist; he died January 21, 1981. She worked as a bookkeeper for Coccia Brothers Oil Company, retiring after many years of service. She was member of the Church of St. John the Baptist and many of its organizations, and the South Rome Seniors.

Rosemarie’s greatest joy was, loving, caring for, and spending time with her family. Of her hobbies, she truly enjoyed the embroidery style called Bunka.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the entire staff at Rome Center (Stonehedge Nursing Home), especially Wing 1, (her extended family) for their care, compassion and friendship extended to Rosemarie.

Rosemarie is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Mary and Terry Miller of Rome, and Anna and Fred Rizio of Rome; two sons, Joseph Giardino and Patricia Colvin of Rome, and Dominic Giardino and Darlene Skidmore of Rome; a sister, D. Marie Grieco of NYC; a brother, Salvatore (Sam) Grieco, of Rome; grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Miller, Adam and Erica Miller and Ian Miller, Jessica and Justin Marriot, Dominic and Tiffany Giardino, Patrick Giardino, Justin Giardino, Jillian Giardino, Christina Rizio, Lucien Rizio and Angela Rizio; seven great grandchildren; a sister in law, Mary Ann Grieco; brothers and sisters in law, Frank and Anna Giardino, Marie and Art Combs, Anthony and Patty Giardino, Dominic and Donna Giardino and Rev. Andrew Giardino; aunts, Jane LaRocco and Mary Seccurra; uncle Armand Seccurra; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Angela; a grandson, Joseph Giardino; a sister, Angela Tangi; and brothers, Conio, John and Andrew Grieco.
