She is survived by one brother and one sister, Wilbur Meyer (wife Peggy), and Marilyn Paul (husband Mike) of Peoria; a daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Ommen of Jacksonville; and a nephew Richard “Rick” Stokes of Peoria.
Roseanne started the Cass County Health Department, realizing the need for public health services there. In the beginning, all Cass County had was a T.B. Clinic and she spoke to various organizations about the need for a health department in Cass County. The health department was started in 1977 and still is going strong, thanks to Roseanne’s dream. Today it is located in Virginia, IL with a satellite office in Beardstown, IL.
She was also Director of Nursing for the Morgan County Health Department and worked for IDPH and as a nurse at Jacksonville Correctional Center. She loved being a nurse and making a difference in people’s lives for which she will be remembered.
