Rose Rocca Anthony, 82, a 40-year resident of Pasadena, MD, and 13 year resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away Monday, October 26th due to complications from congestive heart failure. She was born on July 31st, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois and was educated in the Chicago Public School System. While living in Chicago she worked in data systems for Defense Contractor Scully Jones supporting the war effort during World War II.

After she and her family moved to Maryland in 1956, they had been the proprietor of two service stations and two convenience stores in Glen Burnie. She worked for the Anne Arundel County Court House; the Anne Arundel County Public School System, the Department of Motor Vehicles, ECAC, and finally the Howard County Public School System where she retired from in 1992.

Rose had been an active community volunteer. She was a co-founder of the Glen Burnie Ladies Lions Club and a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader in Glen Burnie when her daughters and son were involved. She could be the Tomboy on the block and knock the cover off of a baseball and enjoyed sports of all types, being a particular fan of ice hockey and her son’s lacrosse games.
