ROSE SHACKEWYC, AGE 88 OF NICEVILLE FLORIDA PASSED AWAY ON NOVEMBER 7, 2007.

SHE WAS BORN IN JERSEY CITY, N.J. ON DECEMBER 25TH, 1918. SHE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF THE LOCAL AREA FOR 30 YEARS. MRS SCHACKEWYC REDSIDED HER LAST SEVEN YEARS AT THE MANOR AT BLUEWATER NURSING HOME IN NICEVILLE. SHE WAS PAST MEMBER OF THE SON’S OF ITALY AND OF THE AMVETS POST 78 OF VALPARAISO. SHE WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE LOCAL TOPP’S CLUB AND DID VOLUNTEER WORK EVERY TUESDAY AT THE TWIN CITIES PAVILLION IN NICEVILLE. SHE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER HUSBAND JOHN SHACKEWYC. ROSE HAS TWO DAUGHTERS, GAIL HOOD OF THE VILLAGES FLORIDA AND MARIE MCDONOUGH OF MIRAMAR BEACH, FLORIDA AND A SON CHARLES SHACKEWYC OF ZEPHYRHILLS, FLORIDA, SEVEN GRAND CHILDREN AND EIGHT GREAT GRAND CHILDREN. MEMORIALIZATION IS BY CREMAITON.
