During her years together with her husband, they loved taking long car rides for vacation, conventions, or even just to pick up the last bit of yarn or beads she needed to finish one of her many arts and crafts projects. During these rides, she could whip up a beautiful hand knitted blanket, which she used to keep herself warm by the time they returned home. Anywhere she went, you would always see her with a bag of yarn, needles, her camera and her latest project in tow. She would also never leave the house without a pocket full of dog treats. She loved her Red Rose tea and her fudge graham cracker cookies, as well as her mints and little candies that filled her purse. Everyone knew not to mess with her or else she would threaten you by saying “I’m going to fop you!” She was a fun-loving woman who was full of life and loved her family.

Her sense of humor and whit were part of her amazing qualities, and her beautiful smile would lighten up the room.

Her hobbies included taking photos, bead making, arts & crafts and knitting & crocheting. Her favorite thing to knit were beautiful blankets and jackets for every holiday for her beloved dog Cleo.

She was extremely active in many Veteran organizations and held an official office within each one. She was a proud veteran of the US Marines; was Ulster County Coordinator for Toys for Tots for 30 years; a hunter safety instructor for 25 years; founder and past Commandant of Eagle Detachment of NY (Marine Detachment); Pack Leader of the Devil Dogs; and the Adjutant to the Commandant of the NYS Marine Corps League and held various other offices for the League.

She didn’t stop there with her involvement in various groups, she enjoyed keeping herself busy as a member of The American Legion, Post 150 in Kingston, NY, Marine Corps League Ulster Detachment, Ladies of the Elk’s B.P.O.E. 1971, Vietnam Vets and life member of the Wawarsing Rod & Gun Club.
