Rose (Rosie) M. Gebert passed away at Nampa Care Center on February 3, 2010. Rosie was born in Meridan, ID on September 27, 1931 to Henry and Eva Steinebach.
Rosie moved to Center Cove as a young child and attended Central Cove Grade School
and Homedale High School. She married George Gebert on August 14, 1949. They lived and farmed in the Sunny Slope area before moving North of Caldwell where they farmed until 1989. The family spent a short time living outside of Nyssa before moving back to their Caldwell farm.
Rosie spent many hours trapping gophers on their farm and for several neighbors.
Rosie had such a great sense of humor and a laugh that you won’t forget. She loved to be outside in her garden and especially loved caring for her roses and peonies. No one was allowed to trim her roses but her. Rosie was also known for her wonderful pies, a gift that she had passed down to her sons. She was loved by everyone that met her and she will be dearly missed by all.
Rosie was preceded in death by her son Robert, both parents and numerous bothers and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 60 yrs, son Allen (Debbie), granddaughter Chelle (Jeff) children, Claire Rosie, and Marcus Robins, Eileen Gebert, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
God’s finger touched her and she slipped away
From earth’s dark shadows to a brighter day;
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hills were hard to climb;
He gently closed her weary eyes,
And whispered, “Peace be thine.”
To a beautiful garden this friend has gone,
To a land of perfect rest
Though she is gone she still lives on
In the garden of memory.
