Rose Marie Crutcher, 88, of Moberly died Thursday, March 26, 2020. She was born February 11, 1932 in Armstrong MO to the union of Melvin and Julia Irene (Brooks) Kirby.

She married David L. Crutcher, June 1, 1952, in Gulf Port, MS, and he preceded her in death March 15, 2020. Also preceding her in death was her son, Greg, her parents, her step mother, Lillian Kirby, brothers, David, Ed, Martin, and Jerry Kirby, and a sister Ruth Fridley.

Rose grew up and lived in Armstrong, MO. When Rose was 15, she lost her mother and little brother in a car wreck, so Rose helped her Dad raise her little sister, Judy. Rose kept active in school activities during High School and she was an Armstrong Basketball star and received many awards.

After High School, Rose went to work at Woodland Hospital as an assistant in the surgical room, which she loved. Rose had several other jobs during her life and they included secretary at Orscheln Motors, Bookkeeper at Westran School, and she retired from MACC as Bookkeeper under Dr. Komar. Her last and most beloved job was babysitting some wonderful children for 19 years, including her great grandchildren.

Rose kept very active in sports as she was a softball pitcher for Connors, a winning woman’s fast pitch softball team. She also loved to bowl, write poetry, and meet her daughter at the swing to listen to Party Line.

She loved her kids and was always calling to check on them and to just visit. She loved talking to all her friends, on the phone, on a daily basis, with a cup of coffee in her hand.

Rose loved her church and all her church friends. She also loved going to Walmart, her favorite place to shop.

“Ma Ma,” as her grandkids and great grands called her, and “Rosebud,” as some of her friends called her, always said, “Jesus heals.”  And now she is healed and in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We love you mom.

Survivors include her two daughters, Pam Prewitt and her husband Roger and Julie Williams and her husband Frankie, all of Moberly, five grandchildren, Tara Bowden, Tyler Benner, Jamie Bodle, Clayton Williams, and Andrea Hayes, seven great grandchildren, Kayle and Bryson Yowell, Felicia Bowden, Kylie Williams, Ethan Bodle, and Hattie and Clara Hayes, one great great grandchild, Layton Bowden, a sister Judy Cone and her husband Bill of Paragould, AR, nieces, nephews and her wonderful children she baby sat.
