TORRINGTON –CHILONE – Rose Maria (Albanese) Chilone, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Percope and Carmen Chilone. Born September 18, 1926 in Italy; the daughter of the late Carmelo and Bettina (Destafano) Albanese. Rose and Tony owned and operated a Variety Store for many years until he passed away. At the age of 70, Rose met the love of her life, Carmen Chilone, with a little help from her niece, Sabrina “the matchmaker.” Carmen and Rose shared many beautiful memories until Carmen’s passing in 2010. She was a humble, generous and kind lady with a witty sense of humor. She deeply loved her family and always took care of everyone. Rose is survived by her two beloved sisters, Helen Macri and Ann Marie Janco, both of Torrington; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Sam Albanese.
