For the last forty years, Rose Martin Manning Ayres has taken great joy in Volusia County’s lovely people and natural beauty, and Rose has given back a whisper of the Old South. Her gracious smile and charming personality touched the lives of all who knew her. Macon, Georgia, was never far from her heart. Rose Martin was born in Macon in 1920 to the late T. Baldwin and Benji Martin. She attended the University of Colorado and the University of Georgia, where she was an Alpha Delta Pi sister. She was a devoted member of the Girl Scouts of America, first as a young scout and later as the leader of her daughter’s troop. Rose’s sparkling blue eyes got even brighter in 1990 when she married William C.
