Rose ‘RoRo’ Magaña
Rose Balades Magaña, born February 22, 1927, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2011; surrounded by family. She was 84. Rose is preceded in death by her parents Ines Covarrubias and Jesus Balades; sisters Ceclilia, Della, Rita; and her brother, Marcelino.
Rose, best known as RoRo, is survived by her daughter Christine, sons Robert and Ronald; grandchildren, Brandon (Tomoko), Jamie (Ricky), Robert Anthony (Sandra), Mark, Shane, Shavon (Tay), Shawna, Manuel, and Ronnie; great-grandchildren Tristin, Joseph, Nathaniel, Isabella, Raquel, Talayah, with another great-grandchild on the way; sisters Hope, Peggy, Susan, Helen, Virginia, Connie; and her brothers, Gilbert and David.
Her family recounts the years spent at RoRo’s house celebrating everyone’s birthdays and all the holidays. In-fact, not a Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or birthday went by that was not spent at RoRo’s.
RoRo is remembered as a loving mom, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, fantastic cook, and having a tireless work ethic. RoRo retired after 50 years as a food processor.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the ICU staff at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. Their care, patience, and professionalism ensured that RoRo’s remaining time was spent in a comfortable and peaceful manner.
