Rose M. (Sheehan) Moniz, age 85, of Beverly, MA died peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family. Rose was a woman deeply devoted to her faith, family and community. Born on November 11, 1932 in Salem MA, the daughter of the late John D. and Rose M. (Pelchat) Sheehan, she is survived by her sons Daniel J. Moniz of Hamilton, MA and his wife Susan, David P. Moniz of Topsfield, MA and his wife Karen, grandchildren Ray (Kellyann) Moniz of Huntington, NY, Sarah (Moniz) Steffens of Atlanta, GA and her husband Michael, Sherilyn Moniz of Chicago, IL, Timothy Moniz of Danvers, MA and his wife Becca, many cousins and lifelong friends. She is pre-deceased by her son Raymond Moniz of Beverly. Rose graduated in 1951 from Holten High School, Danvers, MA. Growing up in Danversport, Rose treasured her friendships and loved getting people together by organizing reunions for both Holten High and the Port. She worked the soda counter at the “dime store,” was payroll clerk at Winston Shoe, sold Stanley Home Products, wrote the Ryal Side column for the Salem Evening News and was employed as a dispatcher for the Beverly Council on Aging until her retirement in 1990. Known for her ability to remember names and dates, Rose served as historian at the Herman A. Spear Post 331, American Legion, Beverly.
