Rose E. Catalano, 95, a resident of Tallahassee, formerly of Schenectady, NY passed peacefully in her sleep on April 21, 2015 at L and L Assisted Living Facility.
She was born December 15, 1919, in Calabria, Italy to the late Carl and Mary Carlino Calautti. She immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island and worked as a key punch operator during World War II. In later years, she realized her talents as an artist. Her talents included pottery, weaving, and silk dyeing. She was a faithful parishioner at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was also involved in the Senior Center, Alzheimer’s Group, the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts and CIAO. She had a great love for anything Italian! She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Bob Catalano and wife Dori; grandchildren, Tommy Catalano and wife Sarah, Johnny Catalano, Michelle Catalano, Marie Catalano Crawford and husband Mike; great-grandson, Andy Catalano; nieces and nephews, David Felano and wife Ruth, Timmy Felano, Michael Felano, Sharon Olivieri and husband Tom; great-nieces and nephews, Amanda, Sarah, Melanie, Timmy, Joe, Marissa, Gina, and Darlene. She is also survived by many other extended family members who loved her dearly.
