Rose Beamish Age 97 of New Haven Township passed away peacefullyon Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Oliver Woods Retirement Village.Funeral services will be held 11am Monday, August 11, 2014 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Maltzan and Pastor Ray Strawser officiating. Burial will follow at West Haven Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 8pm.Rose was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Hersch) Skaryd born in New Haven Twp, MI on February 16, 1917.Rose was a wonderful, strong woman. Her family meant the world to her.Her parents immigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1908, and she was very proud of her heritage.Rose married LaVern J. Beamish in Owosso on September 21, 1940; he predeceased her on February 28, 1991.Rose loved people. She never met a stranger, as she loved to visit. Those who knew her, will remember her sweet smile and friendly manner. She did a good job while living on this earth and; in her own way, worked to make it a better place. Rose enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cross stitch. One of her favorite things was to be outdoors tending to her roses, flower gardens, and lawn.She was a member of the Easton Church of Christ and the C.S.A. Lodge. Rose had worked through the years at Redmonds, Bendix, Universal, and J.C. Penney, retiring in 1978.Rose is survived by her two daughters, Sharon and Denny Gross and Karen and Matt Henige. Plus four grandchildren and their families: Jodi and Randy Griesman, their children Jesse, Sam, Sofia; Jenny Belmer, her children Lila Rose and Arlen Jay; Troy Henige; Kelly Rose and Bradford Hubbard, their children Calla Rose and Bryn. She was predeceased by her husband LaVern; parents Frank and Mary; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.Her family wishes to thank all the wonderful, caring people from both Oliver Woods and Memorial Healthcare Hospice who became her special friends.
