Rose Ann (Jenks) Gordon, 54, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, in Nashport, Ohio.
Born, Oct. 13, 1957, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Joseph Jenks III and the late Doris (Fischer) Jenks.
Rose was of the Catholic faith and attended the Williamsport Schools.
Early in Rose’s life she moved to Boulder, Colo. She spent most of ten years there and was employed at OMEDA Corporation (a medical supply company) as a supervisor. She got to travel through her job, which she really enjoyed.
Upon returning home to Williamsport, she resided in Cogan Station, until she met and married her husband Walter Gordon. They were married on Dec. 21, 1990. Rose moved to wherever Walt’s work took him over the years and they finally settled down and bought a home in Nashport, Ohio.
Rose was a kind and caring person. One of Rose’s happiest moments in life was when her granddaughter, Victoria Rose, was born two years ago.
Rose liked to travel, especially to Florida to visit her son and his family.
She loved the outdoors (especially warm summer days.) Rose enjoyed going to flea markets, yard sales, craft fairs and art exhibits, and taking care of the beautiful rose bushes she and her husband grew, but most of all she loved being with family and friends!
Surviving are her husband, Walter Gordon; her father, Joseph Jenks III of Cogan Station; her son, Shane (Melissa) Mahaffey of Panama City, Fla.; granddaughter, Victoria Rose of Panama City, Fla.; sisters, Christine (Kenneth) Dauber of Cogan Station, Theresa Dischner of Cogan Station; brothers, Alan Jenks of Steam Valley, Joseph Jenks IV of Williamsport, Michael (Rachael) Jenks, Columbia, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her mother, Doris (Fischer) Jenks. Rose will be missed sadly by all those whose lives she touched!
“When we have done all the work we were sent on earth to do, we are allowed to shed our body, which imprisons our soul like a cocoon encloses the future butterfly. And when the time is right, we can let go of it and we will be free of pain, free of fears and worries free as a very beautiful butterfly, returning home to God.”
And on that Friday morning, Rose like the beautiful butterfly, returned home to God!
