Rose Montoya-Olivas
Age 91 of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday April 17th, 2010.
She was preceded in death by husband of 57 years Fred Olivas, beloved daughter Yolanda, sister Margaret, and brothers Lucas and Arturo.
Rose was born November 25, 1918 to Adolfo and Elisa Montoya. She grew up in Los Alamos and San Pedro.
She graduated from The Loretto Academy and later served as The Chief Deputy County Clerk. Rose was a long time member of La Sociedad de Folklórica.
Rose is survived by children, Bobby, David, Phillip and wife Jan; sisters Lucia and deceased husband Stan Roybal, Adelina and Benjamin Montano, Virginia and Ruben Archuleta, and brother Rubel and Rosana Montoya; along with brother in-law- Bill Caperton; grandchildren, Diana and husband Danny Steckman, Douglas, Matthew, Phillip, Nicole and Lucas, and great-grandchild Ryland Steckman. She was devoted to the upbringing of her grandchildren for many years, and had many friends and family that will miss her dearly.
