Mrs. Leise passed Friday morning, November 28, 2014, at Brookstone Village in Omaha.
Rosie was born on February 18, 1926, in Hadar, NE, the daughter of Raymond and Margaret (Risse) Kirby. At the age of 5, Rosies family moved to the farm northwest of Battle Creek. She graduated from Battle Creek High School and became a teacher. She taught in several rural schools around Battle Creek.
On June 25, Rosie married Gerald Leise. The couple made their home in Norfolk. Ten children were born to this union.
Rosie enjoyed sewing outfits for her children, gardening, playing softball and golf. She loved to bake especially wedding cakes.
She was very active in her community working in the soup kitchen and volunteer work. She was recognized by Aksarben with the Good Neighbor Award. Rose was especially active in her parish. She cook for the priests and was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Legion of Mary and the church choir. She also taught religion classes. She was also a member of the Sweet Adeline Choir.
Rosie worked for more than 30 years as a waitress at Prengers Restaurant.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Reverend Gerald Jerry Leise, of Emerson, Mary and Mick Ardery, of Norfolk, Lawrence Larry and Mary Leise, of Norfolk, James and Brenda Leise, of Omaha, John and Karen Leise, of Yutan, NE, Joan and Tim Moore, of Ames, NE, Michelle and Gary Hoffman, of Leawood, KS, Michael and Patti Leise, of Norfolk and Patrick Leise, of Norfolk; nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; her siblings: Margaret and Richard Leise, Phil Kirby, Vince and BJ Kirby, Betty and Jerry Abler and Ellen Derry.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, one sister and 5 brothers.
