Rosalie A. (Bohn) Thomas, 70, of Centralia died October 10, 2013 peacefully at her home.

She was born January 22, 1943 in Highland, Illinois, daughter of T.H. “Ted” and Julia (Cronin) Bohn.

She married Alan L. Thomas on February 9, 1963 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton, Illinois who preceded her in death on June 24, 1998. Ms. Thomas was a loving and caring mom, survived by two daughters, Diane (Art) Mucciante of Presque Isle, MI, Lynn (Mark) Featherling of Centralia, IL and a son Rodney (Carina) Thomas, Bartlett, IL. She was adored and loved by her eight grandchildren, Rosalie, Bruno, and Brianna Mucciante, Megan D. Featherling of Columbia, MO, Jacob Featherling, Centralia, IL Jessica, Alan Joseph “AJ”, and Livia Thomas. Also survived by a brother, Ken Bohn of Breese, IL, brother-in-law, David (Janis) Thomas of Aviston, IL and one nephew, Scott (Kathy) Thomas of Aviston, IL and several very special and dear friends who she thought of as family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents as well as in-laws, Alvin and Laura (Oesterhage) Thomas and a grandson, Arthur Alan Mucciante. She graduated from St. Mary Catholic Grade School, Trenton, IL, Mater Dei High School (1961) Breese, IL and attended Fontbonne College in St. Louis, MO. She later returned to school and attended Kaskaskia College, Centralia, IL obtaining an Associate in Arts Degree in General Studies for Elementary Education. After moving to Centralia in 1974, Ms. Thomas worked as in-home babysitter so she could remain at home with her own children. She later began to work for the Centralia City Schools as a para-professional (teacher’s aide) which she retired from in 2009 after 29 years of service. She also served as the After School Program Supervisor for St. Mary School leaving in 2011. She was a life-long catholic and an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Centralia, belonging to many groups including the church choir, Altar Society (Past President), Parish School of Religion Teacher, Calvary Cemetery Committee (Chair), Prayer Chain, Monday Night Bible Study, and several small faith prayer groups. She was also very active in community groups including Church Women United, Marion County Senior Services, Centralia Clean & Green (Board Member) and Women’s Club (Treasurer).
