Rosalee York 81 of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. She was born on January 21, 1934 in Hoffman, daughter of Lee W. Quick and Margurite (Burek) Quick. She married Walter York on April 14, 1956 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her husband of 58 years, she is also survived by a son, Leon Dwight York and Tammie Miller of Centralia; two daughters: Tana Schneider and husband Michael of Centralia and Carla McDaniel and husband Bill of Centralia; ten grandchildren: Ryan York and Jamie Peters of Richview, Justin York and wife Andi of Troy, Rachel Schneider of Centralia, Morgan York of Centralia, Adam McDaniel of Maryville, MO, Kevin Schneider and Kourtney Chalke of Centralia, Ashley Corners and husband Brent of Centralia, Jennifer Stahla and husband Joe of Belleville, David Schneider of Centralia and Tyrus Rodwald of Pensacola, FL; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jaylin Peters, Payton York, Stacie Schneider, Brylan Jones, Aaron Schneider, Ella York, Callen Corners, Twins: Aftynn and Ava Corners, Emmerson York, Willard Schneider, Isabella Hedgecock, Sabrinah Chalke and one great-grandbaby on the way; three sisters-in-law: Nina Quick of Centralia, Gloria York of California, and Ione Quick of Centralia; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Rollin Quick, Ralph Quick, LeRoy Quick and Willard Quick, four sisters: Marie Kesterson, Arlene Quick, Eileen Clark, and Pat Hatcher. Rosalee’s main hobby was babysitting for many years.
Many children knew her as “Grandma Rosey”. She enjoyed embroidering, quilt making and cooking. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Hoyleton. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
