Rosa Lee Sutton, 91, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at home. Rose was born May 4, 1930, in Colfax, IA, to Earl and Ida (Brown) Ellsworth, graduated from Colfax High School in 1948 and married Walter Sutton on January 23, 1949. They owned and operated Eva Lake Resort in Atikokan, Ontario for the early part of their marriage. They moved to Des Moines in 1962 where they raised their four children. Rose worked as a Lead Teller for Wells Fargo until her retirement. She had a passion for flowers and was a very active member of the Greater Des Moines Garden Club. Rosa was proud of her blue ribbons for flower arrangements she created for the Garden Shows. She loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles and had an extensive vocabulary.

In her 91 years on this earth she was always a loving, patient, and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her smile, laughter, and warmth let everyone know they were truly loved and she would always be there for her family.

Rose is survived by children, Robert (Elizabeth) Sprowell of Oceanside, CA, Dori Lyman of Des Moines, IA, Richard Sutton of Miami, FL, Randal (Vickie) Sutton of Granger, IA, and Norman (Christina) Sutton of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren, Megan (Justin Farlow) Lyman, Nathan (Kate) Lyman, Amanda (David) Murphy, Sara (Scott) Welbourn, Josiah Sutton, Caleb Sutton, Alexander Sutton, Kaylee Sutton, Jordan Sutton, Emily Sprowell, and Stephenie Sprowell; four great-grandchildren, and three bonus great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, her parents, and siblings, Norman Ellsworth, Dorothy Van Elsen, Clara Ann Breckenridge, and Bernice Ellsworth.
