Rosa De la Rosa Duran, 90, surrounded by her loving family at her residence, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Mom was a lifetime resident of Harlingen, born April 14, 1925 in Lyford, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Duran; her parents, Geronimo and Agueda De la Rosa; sister, Maria Santos-De Leon; brother, Agustin De la Rosa.
Mom leaves six children behind to cherish her memory, Agie (Tony) Chapa, Vel (Art) Chavez, Ray (Carole) Duran, Romie (Ruben) Weaver, Rachel (Ruben) Garcia, and Rosie (Arturo) Leal; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Mom was a member of Calvary Baptist Mission. She loved the Lord with all her heart and made Him Lord and Savior, reading the Bible daily and praying for her family. Thank you Mom for instilling a Christian upbringing.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed. A new life with Jesus Christ, what a blessing!
