Rosa (Biceglia) Dellaquila, 88, of Plainville, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Tuesday morning, (April 5, 2011).  Born on June 24, 1922 in Sala di Caserta, Italy, and moving to the United States residing in Plainville, CT since 1947, she was the daughter of late Donato and Antonetta Ligouri Beceglia.  The Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Salvatore Dellaquila;  Rosa was a loving mother and is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Joseph Dellaquila and wife Mary Jean of CA and Donald Dellaquila and his wife Carolyn of Kensington, CT; two daughters and son-in-law, Vincenza Dellaquila of Plainville, CT and Diane Johanson and husband Tom of Windsor, CT.    She was the sister of of late Peter Biceglia of NJ and late Evelyn Buffa of Italy, also of Filomina Bologna, Carmelina and husband Pasquale Carbo of Italy and Gaetano and his wife Ana Biceglia of Hamden, CT.  Rosa also leaves her 15 grandchildren:  Gina and husband Kevin Kerley, Danielle and husband Bill Perry, Cara and husband Jeff Hamm, Gabriel Raymond, Autumn and husband Jeff Struk, Caylee Johanson, Kevin and wife Ebony Johanson, Lynne Johanson, Joseph Dellaquila and Olivia Dellaquila.  She leaves 9 great-grandchildren:  Samantha and Jordyn Kerley, Gabrielle and Jacquelyn Perry, Tatum and Gavin Struk, Henry Dellaquila and Arianne and Brianne Johanson.  Rosa was an aunt to many nieces and nephews in the states and Italy and leaves her special nephews and niece, Donato, Frank and Anthony Biceglia and Judy Van Hook and their families.  Rosa was employed as a homemaker for many years and she loved entertaining all of her friends and family on the weekend cooking traditional Italian festivity food.  Rosa was loved by many and will be remembered by all of her humorous jokes that she told that brought loud laughter throughout the house. Rosa was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish as well as a member of the St. Anthony’s Society where she was known as the “Santa Claus” for many of their Christmas Parties.

The family wishes a special thank you to Dr. Pendleton and his staff, the staff at Hospice of Plainville and their grateful appreciation for Rosa’s loyal workers, Darlene Buehler and Gloria Arlequine.
