Ronnie Mitchel Wilson, 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 12, 2022 surrounded by his family.

Ronnie was born February 3, 1958 in Indianapolis to the late Gordon C. and Pauline A. (Wright) Wilson.

Ronnie was a fun-loving guy who enjoyed life to the fullest. He always loved to make a joke and share a laugh. He made a unique, trademark sound that could be heard from far away. Anyone who knew him knows that sound and knew that he was close by if they heard it.

Ronnie worked at Brown Construction for 15 years. He was quite the handyman and could fix just about anything. He loved teaching and helping his sons share the same career path and enjoyed assisting his daughter Ashlie and son-in-law Shane in their DIY home projects.

Ronnie was in a pool league, called the American Pool Players Association, at John Wayne’s Pub. This was not just a hobby to him, but a passion. He played pool most of his life and was quite the pool shark back in his younger days. He shared his love for the game with many friends, who later became like family to him. He used his skills to help other pool players learn, grow, and expand their game. He put together a great pool team that made him proud.

Ronnie enjoyed a number of hobbies including fishing, dancing, playing pool, the lottery, and poker, watching movies, listening to music – especially CCR, Chris Stapleton, and The Beach Boys – and spending time with friends and family.

A special place to him was Stone Mountain, which he often talked about. His family was able to experience that special place with him recently before he passed. While he was not a super religious man, he knew and loved His God.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Jamie (Maya) Wilson, Ashlie (Shane) Durocher, Brooke Wilson, and Ronnie Wilson Jr.; his grandchildren, Morgan and Madyson Wilson, Owen and Olivia Durocher, Paige Taylor and Quinton Ellinger, Isaiah, Xavier and Rocklyn Wilson; his siblings, Debbie (Terry) Hendricks, Gordon “Chuck” (Charlene) Wilson Jr., Tommy (Sandy) Wilson, and Michael Wilson.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Wilson, his father, Gordon Wilson, his baby sister, Brenda, and his first wife and friend, Sandi McDaniel.
