Ronnie (Ron) Edmundson was born to the late Gertrude Lake and Alfred Foster, October 23, 1942 in the State of New York. He was raised by his mother, Gertrude Lake and his step father Reginald Lake.
Ronnie was always a hardworking man. At the young age of 15, was the maintenance man at a beauty salon. He graduated from Mamaroneck Senior High School.
In 1961 he the Navy and was honorably discharge in 1963. Ronnie then worked for Reliable Cab in Mount Vernon, NY for about 15 years. In 1972 he moved to Washington, DC where he started his career at a printing company in Virginia, which he loved.
Ronnie was an excellent craftsman! He loved working with his hands. He started “Earth Creations,” making hand crafted jewelry using semi-precious stones and silver. He also loved making canes and jewelry trees from oak and birch.
Later in life Ronnie developed health problems causing him to need dialysis three times weekly. However, it did not stop him from working and creating beautiful art.
Ronnie loved being with family and friends, especially with his grandchildren that brightened his days! He enjoyed eating seafood, especially Dawn’s seafood lasagna, playing cards and pool. Ronnie also enjoyed many weekends with Karen and Tony, his niece and nephew.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory his children: Rinaldo, Baron and Tyeisha Edmundson, Nicole Guise and Romelo Edmundson (deceased); eight grandchildren: Thairia, Zaria, Mya, Baron, Jr., Jelani, Jahi, Zora, Johnny and Luqman (deceased); Siblings: Barbara Fields, Shirley (Obiagele) Lake, Christine Green, Joyce Cromartie, Reginald Lake, Tiana Foster, Tracy Foster-Jessamy, Donna Reid, Donna Washington. He was predeceased by his sisters, Florence Morgan, Carolyn Edmundson and Gertrude Edmundson, and his brothers, Becton Edmundson, Al Foster, Jr. and Jay Foster.
