Wandzel, Ronald “Ron”
Saginaw Township, MI
Passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. He was 77 years old. Ronald Peter Wandzel was born on October 28, 1941, in Saginaw to the late Walter S. and Susie M. (Napolitano) Wandzel. At an early age, Ron peddled fruit throughout Saginaw and Flint. He graduated from Arthur Hill Tech, and then continued his education and certifications in Insurance. He worked for Garber Buick and then AAA Insurance as a claims adjuster for almost 30 years. Ron was an avid boater and will forever be remembered as “Captain Ron”. He enjoyed every weekend at his “cabin on the water” in Bay City, on his 31 foot, Sea Ray “Miss Behavin”. He loved to make connections with all people he met. Ron embraced his Saginaw heritage and was proud to be a part of the Napolitano bread family. He enjoyed aviation, sports, working on cars, being outdoors and spending time with his family having a good meal.
Ron is survived by his children: Walter J.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy A. (Town) Wandzel on August 11, 1992; and his best friend, Jim Konieczka on July 11, 2016.
