Ronald Thomas “Ron” Peppin, age 66, of Remington passed away February 16, 2009 at the Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana after an unexpected illness. He was born June 11, 1942, in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of the late Harold J. and Lucille (Girard) Peppin. Ron graduated with the class of 1961 from Bradely High School.
A former resident of Hessville, IN, he had lived in Remington for twenty years. On December 26, 1998, in Las Vegas, NV, he married Jerri L. Kline, who preceded him in death on December 20, 2005. Ron was currently employed as a driver for Rensselaer Septic Tanks. He was the former owner and operator of both Peppin’s Cafe’ in Remington and Peppin’s Country Corner Restaurant in Rensselaer.
He was a member of the A.B.A.T.E. Organization. Ron is survived by 3 children, Lonna (Chuck) Wheet and Michael Peppin, both of Wheatfield, IN and Linda (Danny) Cooke of Stuart, FL; 3 step-sons, James Willison and Steve (Cindy) Willison, both of Lowell, IN and Chuck Willison of Michigan City, IN; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one sister, Carol (Roger) Wehrle of Aroma Park, IL, one brother, Joe (Elaine) Peppin of Bradley, IL, sister-in-law, Carol Adams and special cousin, Sandy Trinkle both of Monticello, IN, several nieces and nephews and his significant other, Sandra “Sam” Parks of Rensselaer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jerri, one brother and one sister.
