Ronald “Ronnie” Edward Steele, 69, passed away in Chatom, AL on June 29, 2019.  He was a native and life long resident of Wagarville, AL.  Ronnie was a member of Wagarville Baptist Church where at one time he taught Sunday School and the RA’s.  Before his disabling accident at age 20, he played men’s softball and even afterwards Ronnie coached a softball team at Wagarville Park.

He graduated from Leroy High School in 1968 and went to work in the warehouse for “Old Geigy”.  He worked there until his accident.  Ronnie had a most unusual happy attitude in spite of everything.  He was still able to go fishing and was a member of the AlaBigbee Bass Club and competed in fishing tournaments.  During his time at the nursing home he enjoyed playing Bingo and Turkey Scratch.  Ronnie was a big Alabama Football Fan.  He was very close to his family and they all loved Ronnie too.
