Charles “Ronald” McGuire, age 78, of Buford, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas and Sarah Hardy McGuire; his wife of 43 years, Lucy Scott McGuire; step-daughter, Runelle Edmisten; daughter, Molly McGuire; step son, Rondell “Dink” Browning; brothers, Oliver McGuire, “Spud” McGuire, Leslie McGuire and Doug McGuire.
Mr. McGuire is survived by son, Tommy McGuire, Buford, GA; son-in-Law, Duane Edmisten, Carnesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Norma McGuire, Commerce, GA and Sharon McGuire, Flowery Branch, GA; grandchildren, Tod (Gloria) Edmisten, Carnesville, GA, Shane (Michelle) Edmisten, Douglas, GA, Jady Edmisten, Carnesville, GA, Jody (Paul) Taylor, Clover, SC; great-grandchildren McKenzie Edmisten, Katelyn Edmisten, Jeffrey Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. McGuire was born January 4th, 1942 in Cartersville, GA.
He graduated in 1961 from North Gwinnett High School and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. McGuire was retired from Phillips State Prison as a firearms instructor and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. McGuire was a Mason and a member of Buford Masonic Lodge No.292 F.& A.M. He was an avid deer hunter and also enjoyed cooking and doing home improvements.
