Ronald Mayrbaurl, age 79, of Pound Ridge, NY, passed away Friday, November 4. He is survived by Helen Mayrbaurl, his wife of 55 years. Ronald was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 21, 1932, son of the late Max and Lina Mayrbaurl. A graduate of Cooper Union, he was a retired principal of Weidlinger Associates. As a civil engineer he was regarded in the industry as a foremost expert in suspension bridge cables, and was consulted on major bridges including the Manhattan Bridge and the Firth of Forth. He truly loved his work and continued to consult until his death. He loved to travel, and enjoyed fine food and wine. He leaves behind a son, Eric, a daughter, Suzanne, her husband Joseph, and a beloved granddaughter Sophia.
