SALEM – Ronald Leonard McFarland, age 81, died at 7:42 a.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1936 in Hubbard, Ohio, the son of the late Francis E. and Margaret P. (Williams) McFarland.
Ronald was last employed as an electrician at General Motors in Lordstown for 31 years. He was an active member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Lisbon and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Ronald loved spending time with his family and animals. He enjoyed boating, fishing and politics.
Survivors include his wife, Lois “Jean” (Wolfe) McFarland, whom he married May 17, 2003; two sons, John McFarland of Hubbard and David (Charlotte) McFarland of Shelby Twp., MI; a daughter, Lori (Erik) Harpsoe of Avon; two step-daughters, Carol (Jeff) Farkas of New Waterford and Janet (Jack) Flickinger of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Daniel, Christopher, Taylor, Chloe and Blake and three step-grandchildren, Ashlee, Jackson and Joshua.
A step-grandson, Jeffrey Farkas also preceded him in death.
