Ronald Lee Duerson was born on March 1, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents, Otho Duerson, Sr. and Madeline Mae Duerson Branford. He was the fifth child born in the family. His brothers, Otha, Jr., Murray, and sisters, Ottie, Pauline, and Jacquline remember Ronald as a child having an entrepreneurial spirit, always finding ways to be successful, and being extremely good with money. He was attracted to nice cars; he owned a real sharp 1956 convertible Buick that he purchased with his paper route money. While in his youth, he even traveled to Canada with his friends.

Ron was educated and graduated from Macomber High School in Indiana, 1962. In July of 1962, he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Ronald was the proud father of Octavious, Maurice, Tiercel, Murray, Twyla, Othaleena, Morina, Odelia, Ronda, Guadalupe, Regina, and Nicole.  He loved his children and desired the best for them all.  On September 1, 1991, at the Chapel of Veterans in Denver, Colorado, Ronald married the loved of his life, Yvette.  She remembers Ronald taking her on her first plane ride and traveling to Venice Beach in Florida.

By profession, Ronald was the 28th Field Maintenance Squadron (SAC) for the Air Force. He worked to honor those he served.

In his free time, Ronald loved watching football, eating steak, drinking margaritas and Pepsi, eating mounds chocolate bars, getting massages, and always thinking of the things he wanted to accomplish.

He will always be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, friend, and grandpa.

“Thank you for everything, Dad. I will always cherish your soul and the person you raised me to be.”

Watch over us, Dad.”

“Thank you for the countless memories and endless love and care.”
