Details: Ronald Larry Brasher passed away on August 29, 2012 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center with family by his side. He was born at Mendenhall Hospital in Johnstown, PA on December 17, 1937, and raised in nearby Ferndale, the son of Pauline Hammond Brasher and Chester Wheeler Brasher. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Brasher Rothermel and Susan Brasher Davis, and grandsons Trey Davis, Jonathan and William Rothermel, all of Ocean City, MD, brother Tom Brasher, of Beaufort, SC, special friend, Ellen Miles and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phyllis Ann Cooper, his former wife, Kathryn Jones “Kate” Bunting and an infant son, James.Larry graduated in 1955 from Ferndale High School, where he played varsity football, basketball, and baseball. He had the distinction of being his class president for all four years of his high school years. After high school he hitched a ride to join his older brother in State College, PA. Upon enrolling in the Pennsylvania State University, he took courses in agriculture science and business administration but eventually decided on education, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959.
