LANEY, RONALD of Portage. Ronald Henry E. Laney, age 94, went home to be with his Lord on May 19, 2012. Ron was born September 21, 1917, in Ransom Township, Michigan, the son of Carl and Mille Brown Laney. On October 16, 1937, he was united in marriage to the former Marguerite L. Hauer and they were residents of the Kalamazoo area for over 40 years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 74 years, Marguerite; three children and their spouses, Tom and Sonya Laney of Woodstock, GA, Mary Ellen and Gary Georgi of Avon, OH, Becky and Kevin Ringler of Schoolcraft; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Torrey and Jane Marble. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Marsh.
