Ronald Joyner, 71, of Peru, passed away Saturday morning, January 28, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Peru. Mr. Joyner was born on December 10, 1945 in Chicago to Clarence and Margaret (Marqui) Joyner. He married Georgia Festas on September 16, 1969; they later divorced.
Ron worked as a medical lab technician at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle and later at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru with more than 26 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later with the Navy Reserves, retiring with 34 years of service.Ron volunteered at the Illinois Valley Food Pantry in LaSalle for over 15 years and was an avid Cubs fan. He is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Trump of Peru; one grandson, Zachery Trump of Peru and his lady friend, Donna Hess of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, at birth.
