Ronald Joseph Szell, 74, of Middletown, husband of Gladys (Crandall) Szell for fifty-three years, passed away peacefully at home with his family. Born in Dover, NJ he was the son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Marion (Gurovich) Szell. Ron was employed at M & M Mars Company for twenty-four years, was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed woodworking. He was a humble, quiet man who loved his dogs and cats and his 1950 Ford. Along with his wife, he is survived by two sons, Steven Szell and his wife, Donna of Budd Lake, NJ and Robert Szell of Mt. Bethel, PA; a daughter Leslie Hassmann and her husband, Russell of Durham; seven grandchildren, Melissa Szell of Budd Lake, NJ, Danielle Szell of Budd Lake, NJ, Kyle, Cory and Erin Hassmann of Durham, Andy Picciuto of Northport, FL and Harry Picciuto of NC; a sister-in-law, Sandra Szell of Mine Hill, NJ and a niece, Sheila Davenport and nephew, Scott Szell.
