Ronald Joseph Olomon, 84, of Roanoke, IL, went peacefully home to be with Jesus at 8:15 pm on Friday, June 18, 2021, with his family singing all his favorite gospel songs. He was born on April 13, 1937, to Hardie and Clara (Peterson) Olomon.  He married the love of his life, Bonnie Frailey, on May 15, 1960.  

Surviving is his wife, Bonnie and their five daughters, Sheila (Mick) Boles of Washington, IL, Brenda (Brian) Johnson of Twin Lakes, WI, Wendy (the late Bruce) Falk and Lori Sams, both of Eureka, IL, and Anita (Ed) Cole of Metamora, IL; nine grandchildren, Cody, Katelyn, Christina, Megan, Matt, Christian, Jesse, Trent, and Kyle; three step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren along with two on the way; and nine step-great-grandchildren. His parents, four sisters, and four brothers preceded him in death.

Ron worked on the farm as a young boy.  He joined the U.S. Marine Corp at 17 years old and served for three years before being honorably discharged.  Ron worked at Peoria Plastics Company for 6 ½ years and later worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company and retired after 30 years.

His greatest joy and love in life was his family. He would do anything for anyone at any time.  Ron loved to garden, hunt, camp, and travel.  He also enjoyed animals on the farm and his favorite was riding and breaking horses to ride and drive. In addition, Ron was known for his storytelling which had no boundaries.
