Ronald Jerome Morris, Sr., 77, of Interlachen, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, in Palatka following a brief illness. Born in Florence, South Carolina, he resided in Putnam County for 13 years coming from Lancaster, SC. Ronald served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard. He had worked as a welder with the Piedmont Natural Gas Company in Charlotte, NC. As his past-times, Ronald enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Thomas Morris, and his parents, James A. Morris and Addie Morris.
Ronald is survived by a daughter, Laura Renda (James) of Chapin, SC, a son, Ronald J. Morris, Jr. (Lois) of Bamberg, SC, 2 sisters, Macey Thomas and Shirley Day, both of Palatka, 2 brothers, James Morris (Hilda) and Anthony Morris, all of Interlachen, 6 grandchildren, Stephanie Marie Renda, Staci Anne Renda, Saleta Ann Morris, Kristin Elaine Morris, Cody Dillon Morris (Amber) and Laura Michelle Hedrick (D.J.) and 9 great-grandchildren.
