Ronald James Grabau of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 78.
Ron was born on June 30, 1944 in Boone, Iowa. He was a proud Iowa farm boy, graduating from Boone
High School in 1962. Ron went on to study Animal Science at Iowa State University and was a member
of the Livestock Judging team. After college, Ron pursued his career in the meat and poultry industries,
specializing in R&D, sales, marketing and product development. His career took him to several
companies including Wilson Foods, Briggs, Holly Farms and Perdue Farms before starting his own
business Grabau Marketing, Inc. Ron was an avid golfer and had a passion to volunteer. He was a golf
coach for the Special Olympics Forsyth County and a board member of the Forsyth County Family YMCA
where he won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year award.
Ron is preceded in death by parents Lawrence Henry Grabau and Edith Sutton Grabau and brother
Richard Grabau.
He is survived by his children and their spouses: Michael (Denise) Grabau, Eric (Joan) Grabau, and
Kristen (Rob) Meglaughlin; his sisters and their spouses: Margaret (Dennis) Carter, Margie (Joe)
Stoneburner, and Beverly Grabau; and his loving grandchildren: Tyler Grabau, Drew Grabau, Miranda
Grabau, Cooper Meglaughlin and Harper Meglaughlin and many loved nieces and nephews. He will be
missed by many.
County or the Forsyth County YMCA in honor of Ron. He proudly supported these two organizations for
many years.
